Thriving in this Economy is Like Sleeping with the Sharks

I have a colleague that recently returned from Sleeping with the Sharks at Underwater Adventures in the Mall of America. Apparently, participants sleep for a night directly under a glass tank full of sharks that swim above constantly. The picture to the left gives you an idea how close you get. (Fun?)

This struck a chord with me. Not only surviving but thriving in this environment is akin to sleeping with the sharks. Danger surrounds us every day in the current business climate, low demand for goods and services, competition from every corner of the globe, and prevalent pessimism.

We really need to realize that despite all the dangers, like that glass, the Portage County spirit of progressive thinking, proactive exploration, and innovative character provide more protection than we realize.
