At a state meeting on September 27, Portage County Executive Patty Dreier was elected by her peers to become Vice President of the Wisconsin County Executives & Administrators Association (WCEA) for a two-year term. The WCEA is the statewide organization with 49 member counties. Through the WCEA, county executives and county administrators coordinate their voice on policy matters as they affect county government and local county services. It is also the Wisconsin organization through which county executives and administrators share their insights to assist each other in addressing the common challenges in local government.
Kathy Schauf, Sauk County Administrative Coordinator moved up from the WCEA Vice President spot to become President. Debra Behringer, Waushara County Administrative Coordinator, will continue serving as Secretary-Treasurer of the organization. Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris is the out-going President for the Association.
